There is a limited number of salon appointments that one can fit into a single calendar. To ensure that your stay in the salon is as short as possible, having an outline of what you would like done is a good idea. This is even more so with nails as you not only have to select a color and a design, but a shape as well. Speaking of classic shapes, let us talk about the tried and tested, sure-to-remain classic option of almond shaped nails. The slight rounding at the tip serves as a good base for most nail designs and adds length to shorter fingers.
Moreover, like stiletto nails bring edge, whether literally or figuratively, almond-shaped nails bring along their own unique flair. Chloe Corbishley-Bull, the talented manicurist and owner of The Gel Club, has always had a passion for almond-shaped nails. The shape is wider than most, letting more fun designs to be added. “Chloe remarks, ‘This shape is incredibly organic in its appearance, effortlessly infusing a sense of sophistication.’ Ultimately, this design offers an expansive canvass for creative expression.”

What could possibly top chrome Almond-shaped nails? Nothing, until we saw their neutral chrome version glazed over, and then we tried blueberry glazed. Now that is truly striking! We also have two other superb options: glazed lavender and jade green.

Floral Tips
Wait, what did I just hear? Nail tips can’t be an artistry? No, hands down, this is the place where the nail is left nude, while the surrounding part gets covered with a stunning purple floral design. This is French tips gone springtime.

Everything’s Vine
For understated nail art with a magnificent twist, go for earthy green nails. The green paint is gorgeous on its own, but the addition of fine white vines on the middle and ring fingers takes it to the next level, not to mention the olive green speckles on the leaf tips.

Pink French Manicure
Quite the stunner, aren’t they? Pink truly brings an invigorating vibe to an almond-shaped nail, making it perfect for an elegant French manicure. “I’m really into cute French manicures, so this offers a fun twist on the classic design,” shares Corbishley-Bull.

Strawberry Field
These fruity almond-shaped strawberry field nails are a creative design. The individual strawberry shapes fit perfectly within the almond shape. On the other hand, the bold red strawberries provide further contrast to the base nude polish. Trying to recreate this manicure at home? Corbishley-Bull has this pro tip: After applying the nude base, use a thin striping brush to paint upside-down eggs with your desired polish.
“After the egg shapes have dried, use your art brush to place tiny white seeds right in the center and allow that to dry,” Corbishley-Bull shares.

Abstract Nail Art
These abstract shapes could fit perfectly for those nails. They provide an artistic approach since basically every form of drawing including spirals, bold dots, and triangles can be used. Of course, the outcome is up to you, but the almond shape provides a softer finish. “Abstract nail art on almond-shaped nails is definitely one of my favorites… inspiration can truly be found everywhere,” shares Corbishley-Bull.

Pastel Tips
Corbishley-Bull adds gold and white dots to enhance the almond shape nail after the tips of the nail are done in gold and white.
“Burnish a nude base first. After that, with a Brillbird 0 Brush, paint the French tips. Sprinkle gold dust on the edges of the almond shape tips,” Corbishley-Bull instructs. “Grab the brush and place it into the polish you want to use first. Pull it from one edge of the nail to the other while cleaning with acetone. The manicurist waits for the tips to dry before adding white dots through a dotting tool and ensuring there is enough space between each. Once the white dots dry, I place gold ones in the gaps and finish it with a top coat,” she says.

Sheer Sparkle
As trends change, many people now seem to like the ‘your nails but better’ look as an alternant to times with need of sheer neutral polish. A little sheer sparkle polish during these moments is easy to apply, looks beautiful and works any season. Also, the growth of your nails post manicure still looks good during the growing period.

Aura Vibes
Aura nails are one of the modern nail art styles which do not demand a lot of time, as one can easily do this at home. The elongated almond shape serves as an ideal backdrop for this vibrant color explosion. Pink and orange complement each other beautifully, but feel free to make this nail art uniquely yours with endless customization options. Ombré
An ombre manicure brings all the interest in a very subtle way. The Almond shape also has the feature of providing space for more creativity as in the case of this almond tricolor ombre which goes from light pink to hot pink then red at the tip.

Happy Faces
Happy face designs are loved by everyone. For this look, Corbishley-Bull begins with a nude foundation and employs a dotting tool to craft circular designs.
“I refine the edges of the circles using the Brillbird 0 Brush,” she shares. “With the [Brillbird 0 Brush] and Barry M Hi Shine polish in Black Forest, I build the periphery of the eyes and then complete the ovals by gently pressing down with the brush to the nail.”

Something Blue
If you would like a style that would stand out on your almond nails, consider trying monochrome french tips with glitter polish. The blue version is stunning, but it would look just as marvelous in shades of pink or red.

Creamy Mother Of Pearl
Yes, this manicure is neutral, but that doesn’t mean it’s dull. The detailing of the mother of pearl adds beauty to the pink iridescent base and the long almond shape of the nails serve as a suitable canvas for the meticulous design.

Stripes And Swirls
Stripes tend to lengthen the appearance of a short almond nail bed, and this combination with delicate swirls is magic. With a detailed brush, this design can easily be done at home using white nail polish, a little shimmery polish, and some time.

Seeing Spots
This manicure features petite black dots over pastel French tips. The long almond shape of the nails is eye-catching and draws attention to the circles. In addition to that, the circular design rounds off the wonderful shape of the nails which results in perfection.

Galaxy Nails
Pardon our puns, but these nails are definitely out of this world. To achieve this look, cat eye nail polish will most certainly aid in reflecting the glow. Moreover, a larger nail shape makes it easier to show off designs like this galaxy inspired one.

In The Nude
Just because you can go bold with your design on almond nails does not mean you have to. This shade is an ultra-light beige inspired nude which shows that the shape remains sophisticated even if left “blank.” Besides, the muted tone will go with almost anything.

Go For The Gold
To achieve all the sumptuous looks possible on almond shaped nails, consider getting gold adornments on top of a sheer base polish. The softer tones add to the gentle appeal of the shape, and the add-on hardware provide great points of interest. This design may not be quiet, but it is definitely luxury.
